The Vicon Motion capture System (250) is used to capture the movements of the reflective
facial stickers in 3-dimensions as the participants produce speech, interact with parents and
investigators, and/or chew food.
The stickers are placed on the participant's face with hypoallergenic tape just like this:

The system consist of 5 cameras:

The system also consists of a workstation that reconstructs the five 2-dimensional views of the reflective stickers (from each camera) into one 3-dimensional image.

Depending on the age of the participant, the sessions can include play time, eating time, or speech tasks (with the older participants).
During the feeding portion of the session we usually ask parents to feed their child as they normally would (or we would ask the older children and adults to feed themselves) and the Vicon system allows us to track motion of the face (jaw and lips) in 3-dimensions.
